How Can Reiki Help Me?
The practice of Reiki healing originated thousands of years ago in ancient Japan. Reiki is the practice of tapping into the natural healing powers of universal energy. Reiki practitioners have received training and attunement which enables them to focus into the healing energy and become a conduit, opening themselves to receive and pass the positive healing energies to others.
Reiki offers the body a deep level of relaxation, helping to ease daily stress and strain and providing replenishment where needed, ‘topping up’ and harmonising the whole self in a balancing way.
What are Chakras? The body’s Chakra system is first documented in ancient Hindu Vedas Sanskrit texts. In modern times we recognise 7 Chakra energy centres within the body, these keep us psychologically and physically well. Each Chakra area is associated with specific organs and glands of our biological endocrine system and a recognisable ‘rainbow colour system’ has been attached to this.
When extreme stress or trauma is experienced our bodies energy and metabolism can go into shock and become depleted, the Chakra system of belief states that this can result in the formation of energy blocks within chakras. Reiki healing treatment can support the body to deeply relax, helping it repair, enabling blockages to dissipate and allowing energy to flow purposefully again.
What does Reiki feel like? Each person’s reaction to receiving Reiki healing is unique to them and their physical and emotional wellbeing. A wide range of experiences are possible, the most common being an holistically deep relaxed and calm state. Some may experience relaxation, peacefulness and a pleasant sensation of their limbs feeling lighter. Others may experience the welcome release of emotional pressure and occasionally people experience mentally ‘seeing’ beautiful colours.
All these experiences are positive and totally normal, and are an indication that the individual has entered the treatment with a belief that they will benefit and enjoy the Reiki session, subsequently they deeply relax and are able to allow the Universal energy to flow throughout their bodies.
