At various times in life we experience stress and anxiety. Stress may originate from work pressure, family responsibilities, health concerns or from the need to juggle many tasks, the body’s natural response is to produce the stress hormone cortisol. In short term situations, cortisol helps enable us to protect ourselves or escape from a threat, this is known as the ‘fight or flight response’.
However when life’s stresses and strains continue across long periods of time, our bodies can become flooded with cortisol, this creates an unhealthy state. We may then experience feelings of confidence erosion and concerns about our ability to continue to emotionally or physically cope.
A Little YOU Time Holistic Wellbeing Therapy sessions provide a calm, comfortable and confidential space for total relaxation. Each soothing, detoxifying massage helps the body to naturally lower both blood pressure and cortisol levels, resulting in stress reduction. Alongside these great outcomes, massage supports the body’s overall health and promotes healthy sleep.
Angie at A Little YOU Time will listen to your concerns and needs, and will work with you to develop a treatment plan to decrease stress and symptoms of anxiety. Sessions can be arranged between 60-120 minutes, in accordance with your requirements, and can include a combination of talking therapy and massage.
